Part B:

Part B:
To play this all you really need is too now how to read guitar tableture which may look difficult but really its quite simple. First of all each of the six lines going across represents the strings on the guitar with the line at the bottom being the E-string which would be nearest to you. Then the numbers on these stings show the note that is needed to play, the number represents what fret on the guitar is needed. So for example if there was a number 5 on the line at the bottom then you would play the 5th fret on the E-string

rough video that shows flow-course

So here is the rough version of my idea to show flow - course which i feel the general idea works well as it represents the flow very well as a successful song has to flow pretty much to become catchy and popular. The course in this could be out of two things, either the direction the song structure takes ie. with the order of the the verse chorus and bridge etc. or by the way if effects you as a person like your mood for example.

Idea Number 2

I have got a new idea now which would be for the words
Flow - Course

the basic idea is using a song to demonstrate this, as the flow would be each section such as verse and chorus etc and all the Melody's as the notes "flow" together
Then the course would be the direction/pattern/order the song goes
for example you would have the intro then a combination of verses and chorus's and then a bridge and outro would be in there somewhere.

just not fully sure on how to show this yet, i have an idea of taking multiple different angled shots of me playing some song on guitar. but still not certain on how to present all this yet.

Playing With Stop motion

Today we was playing about making short stop motion clips made from play-doh by creating faces and attempting to make them look as if there talking. The play-doh was very good for moulding and sculpting which made it very easy to animate here.

Here is a video where we was attempting to animate 3 heads talking to each other.

Here we was just playing about and ended up making a mini music video for a prodigy song

This is one of the first attempts at animating we did.

Flash Tutorial Outcome

Flash mx Introduction [May 5th]

For our introduction to flash we was taught how to make create buttons in flash and how to link them to a different area. We was also told about what the difference was between html code and flash code, which is that flash is a lot more interactive with the user.

first of all we just made eight simple shapes in illustrator which we then copy and pasted into flash. then when we edited the four stages of how the button looks which are "up,over,Press, hit" so then it creates some animation so when you press the button it does look as if its being pressed.

after this we created more key frames along the timeline which the button could be linked to with a simple code so that when the button is pressed it links straight to the desired key frame.

In this introduction we used coding such as:
stop();
and
gotoAndStop();
to control the frames from playing all the way through
and then to say what frame to go too

This helped me out quite a lot as i have done flash before but not for like two years so this reminded me of how it works and let me become familiar with it again so after creating a few buttons a started adding just a few simple animations which were just made up of motion tweens.

Idea Number 1

From looking at the video below it sprung an idea where i would like to do something similar to this which would relate to the words "tree-shape"
The basic idea is to use the same technique as below using stop motion but changing what is made as i would use a tree and possibly a lumberjack made from play-doh.So it could be animated using stop motion video of how the tree ends up becoming something such as a table then also possibly spread a message about the Eco converting it into an advert so it has a purpose.
The only thing i don't like about this idea is that it seems far to obvious as an idea.

Looking At stop motion

From looking around i found a good example of a stop motion video on youtube,
and a making of it to go with. The video is of an xbox 360 advert where i beleive the stop motion works really well as it adda a lot of character too it.

wednesday 22nd April [How to?]

Today we had our first lecture from Nigel on "hot and cold media" and then he showed us a video "podcast" by "Bill Verplank" which did an interaction of a map of "how do you do? how do you feel? and how do you know?"

Tuesday 21st April

For the morning on this day we had a look at how music video's had used stop motion and how we could intemperate this into our own work for our starting points.
There were quite a few that a gained quite some influence from such as the white stripes music video...

Another one i found which i found to be really good was "Her Morning Elegance / Oren Lavie"

I like this just because of the illusion and effect it gives off, and i would like to try to do something similar to this.

Then in the afternoon we went out with camera's to try and create our very own stop motion video. Our first attempt turned out alright but seemed to be over too fast but then we went out again and our second attempt was a lot better and seemed a lot longer, however it was rather jumpy as we were leaving to big gaps in between each frame so this is something to improve upon.

Monday 20th April

Today we started our new brief which is called "rich media" which is a term to define singularly or in a combination of a range of technologies within a context or environment.

In this project we are going too develop our own experimental approach to new and emergent media, explore communication strategies and learn about the application of new emergent technologies.

To start with we have been given a starting point too create a series of photographs or video response to one of the following...
tree - shape
hair - suite
flow - course
coat - Finnish

From here we worked in pairs to think of what these words mean and looking at there synonyms,
such as for flow i got..
* To move along in a stream
* To circulate : Blood flowing through veins

Synonyms - flow, gush, spout, spurt

and for course i got..
*A direction or route taken

Then in the afternoon we went out with video camera's to get our self familiar with them, playing with the focus and seeing what works.
